R – our precious daughter who was born in Autumn 2005. She has a diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome (an autism spectrum disorder). She sometimes finds life difficult and get can get overwhelmed by what may seem like unlikely things to us but she’s caring, gentle and very generous (she loves spending her pocket money on B!)
B – our little monkey who was born in Autumn 2009. He was my little surprise as I was so sure I was expecting another girl and then I was presented with this little boy! He’s funny and enthusiastic, but a very fussy eater.
M – my amazing husband (who also has Asperger’s syndrome). He works really hard for a big multinational which allows me to stay at home with the children. He has a very gentle heart and is a wonderful daddy to our monkeys.
Granny – my wonderful mum – inspiring, supportive, encouraging, fabulous! She has the most amazing relationship with R and B, it’s wonderful.
The BFG – my mum’s big, cuddly partner (Thank you Granny for that wonderful nickname for him!). He’s the closet thing to a Grandad that my two will ever really know.
Dad – my dad has lived in a nursing home for the last 5 years. He has a condition called cerebral vasculitis which has caused seizures and brain damage and has affected his memory. He is too frail and unwell for the children to see him now, R can remember him before his hospitalisation, but B only met him once as a tiny baby.
